Let's all give a helping hand

Non-Profit Organizations

We welcome the opportunity to assist your non-profit organization with IRS compliance and financial statements.

The IRS has specific reporting requirements for a non-profit organization. These requirements must be met each year in order to continue to qualify for tax-exempt status. This includes preparing and submitting Form 990 and its relations. For most non-profit organizations, the following specific items may be required for compliance:

  • An Income Statement providing category breakdowns on donations, salaries paid, rent, postage and more. Revenues and expenses also need to be broken down in detail.

  • A Balance Sheet that accounts for cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable and more.

  • A Functional Expense Statement that provides information on all expenses related to fundraising, program services provided and general operations.

  • A Program Expense Statement spelling out each program or service’s expenses.

  • Detailed Revenue Support Schedules providing information on the sources from which the organization gets its income, including a breakdown of specific category revenues for membership fees, donations, investment revenue and the like.

In addition to preparing these important documents, we also offer financial statement preparation specifically designed for the needs of tax-exempt organizations.

Baden & Plater, CPA, LLC has extensive experience in assisting with the preparation and assembly of these documents. Call us at (240) 708-7988 or click the Contact Us link, and we can help you with non-profit compliance and accounting.
